Song: Just Like You
-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvXXMsiQBDg

Singer: Louis Tomlinson

Nationality: The UK
Brief introduction to the singer:
Louis is an English singer, songwriter and television personality. He became a member of the boy band One Direction in 2010 because of the TV program, X Factor.
Now he mainly dedicates himself to his singles instead of  group events.

Lyrics:
It's the guy from the one band
Cigarette in my left hand
Whole world in my right hand
25 and it's all planned
Night out and it's 10 grand
Headlines that I can't stand

But you only get half of the story
The cash and the cars, and the glory
No sleep and we party 'till morning
'Cause nobody cares when you're boring

I'm just like you, even though my problems look nothing like yours do
Yeah, I get sad too, and when I'm down I need somebody to talk to
Yeah, I feel the same as you do
Same stress, same shit to go through
I'm just like you if you only knew

If I had it my way, pub lunch every Sunday
Cheap beer and it's okay
I wanna lay where she lays
I wanna stay in these days
Gonna smoke and it's okay

Every heart breaks the same
Every tear leaves a stain
Can I just be the same?
Every heart breaks the same
Every tear leaves a stain
Let me be the same

I'm just like you, even though my problems look nothing like yours do
Yeah, I get sad too, and when I'm down I need somebody to talk to
Yeah, I feel the same as you do
Same stress, same shit to go through
I'm just like you if you only knew

If you only knew

The reason why I like the song :
Although Louis is my favorite member from One Direction, it's not the reason why I love this song. Why this song is so attractive to me is because of  the way he talks about people's pejudice. He tried to make people realize him with empathy. Also, the lyric is thought-provoking.We often judge others when we don't know them that much, but as the lyric says,"you only get half of the story",we shouldn't judge others while we haven't really realized them. The most touching line to me is the bridge,"Every heart breaks the same Every tear leaves a stain Can I just be the same?". I can totally feel his helpless through the lyric. I'd like to recommend this incredible song to my classmates in this class.

Words/phrases I learn:

1. grand (adj)-important and large in degree
e.g. His job has a grand title, but he's little more than a clerk.

2. stain (v)-to leave a mark on something that is difficult to remove
e.g. While she was changing the wheel on her car, her coat had become stained with oil.

3. go through (ph)-to be officially accepted or approved
e.g. The proposals for new taxes are unlikely to go through.
